This episode features Dylan and Nicole Tatum from Grandfather Vineyard & Winery in Banner Elk, NC! Dylan and Nicole tell us about how Grandfather Vineyard got started back in 2003. Over time, they found that hybrid grape varieties thrive in the cooler climate of the Appalachian High Country AVA, producing wines with high acidity and bold fruit flavors.
Wine Class with the Wine Mouths is back again! Join us as they talk about the winemaking style called Pét Nat! I enjoyed listening to Dylan and Nicole talk about Grandfather Vineyard. I have been going there since spring of 2013 and have experienced all the change they talked about. I’ve been in the wine club since its inception and really enjoy all the different events associated with the club. This is my “CHEERS” bar since my place up there is less than a 10 min. drive up behind the vineyard! The Tatums are special people and I’ve enjoyed getting to know them over the years.
