{"id":743,"date":"2015-09-25T12:49:18","date_gmt":"2015-09-25T16:49:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ncwineguys.com\/?p=743"},"modified":"2016-02-06T16:35:55","modified_gmt":"2016-02-06T20:35:55","slug":"nc-wine-month-week-3-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ncwineguys.com\/index.php\/nc-wine-month-week-3-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"NC Wine Month Week 3 Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another week has come and gone. \u00a0We&#8217;re almost to the end of September and soon October will be upon us. \u00a0Week 3 brought with it slightly cooler weather, so we had a few more reds \u00a0but still made room for some excellent white wines. \u00a0Here&#8217;s our list for the week.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t forget, you can also follow our progress on the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ncwineguys.com\/index.php\/nc-wine-month-2015-challenge\/\">NC Wine Month 2015 Challenge<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>9\/15: 2013 Vineyard-Brothers Satisfied from <a href=\"http:\/\/silkhopewinery.com\" target=\"_blank\">Silk Hope Winery<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; This incredibly bold and dark red had a lot of great dried fruit flavors. \u00a0A blend of Norton and Chambourcin, it&#8217;s truly unique. \u00a0If you&#8217;re a Zinfandel fan, you&#8217;ll need to try this wine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9\/16: 2011 Cabernet Franc from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southcreekwinery.com\" target=\"_blank\">South Creek Vineyards<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Another big and bold red, the 2011 Cabernet Franc had a soft and velvety feel, yet still made a bold statement. \u00a0The flavors were of macerated strawberries, vanilla and spice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9\/17: 2014 Vivace from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adagiovineyards.com\" target=\"_blank\">Adagio Vineyards<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; An alternative white wine for the fall. \u00a0This Traminette has a splash of Chardonnay and Muscat to help balance the flavors. \u00a0It was nice and floral with hints of cream.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9\/18: 2013 Special Delivery Rose from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.juniuslindsay.com\" target=\"_blank\">Junius Lindsay Vineyards<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; This Grenache rose was a welcoming way to kick off our weekend. \u00a0Strawberries through and through with an almost buttery finish, this wine will pair with most anything.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9\/19: 2014 Soft White from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elkincreekvineyard.com\" target=\"_blank\">Elkin Creek Vineyard<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; This grapey white wine was a great refresher for a warmer day. \u00a0Made from the Niagara grape, it had a great balance of fruits and acid.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9\/20: Traminette from <a href=\"http:\/\/mistycreekwines.com\" target=\"_blank\">Misty Creek Vineyards<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Fall is the perfect time for Traminette. \u00a0The green apple flavors yielded to honey and a nice spiced finish.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9\/21: 2012 Mourv\u00e8dre from <a href=\"http:\/\/hanoverparkwines.com\" target=\"_blank\">Hanover Park Vineyard<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; An elegant red wine that pairs well with lamb and other meats, the Mourv\u00e8dre is an outstanding wine with an earthy profile. \u00a0Dried red currants and mild tannins let this wine dance around on the palate before fading out.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Check out our other NC Wine Month postings:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[su_posts template=&#8221;templates\/teaser-loop.php&#8221;
