It’s hard to believe that the first week of September is already over!\u00a0Last week we enjoyed a delicious selection of NC Wines. \u00a0You can keep track of our progress over on our NC Wine Month 2015 Challenge<\/a>\u00a0page. \u00a0–check out our new map, too!<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In case you missed our postings, here’s the highlights:<\/p>\n

9\/1:\u00a0Gr\u00fcner Veltliner from Burntshirt Vineyards<\/a><\/strong> – A light a crisp wine from the Western North Carolina mountains. \u00a0Tart apples and a cool honey palate made\u00a0for an enjoyable wine. \u00a0Perfect for hot September days or slightly cool evenings.<\/p>\n

9\/2: Raylen Vineyards<\/a>\u00a0Tasting at Crafty Beer Guys<\/a><\/strong> – We stopped in at Crafty Beer Guys to celebrate the release of Gravity Magazine. \u00a0While we were there, we were able to taste four wines from Raylen. \u00a0A sparkling, a chardonnay and two reds made for a great wine tasting.<\/p>\n

9\/3: \u00a0Cabernet Franc from Silver Fork Vineyards & Winery<\/a><\/strong> – A delightfully fruity and delicate red wine, it had a refined flavor profile with a slightly nutty finish.<\/p>\n

9\/4: Selfish (port style wine) from Lazy Elm Winery<\/a><\/strong> – After a long day we decided to unwind with a glass of the Selfish. \u00a0A Cabernet Franc base fortified with brandy. \u00a0A dark and smooth wine perfect to settle down for the evening.<\/p>\n

9\/5: Pinot Grigio from Mountain Brook Vineyards<\/a><\/strong> – A full-bodied Pinot Grigio showing tropical flavors and a light creamy finish.<\/p>\n

9\/6: Nebbiolo from Grove Winery & Vineyards<\/a><\/strong> – This wine was dark and full flavored with a smooth plum\u00a0flavor that moved into a cedar finish.<\/p>\n

9\/7: Warrior Red from Cellar 4201<\/a><\/strong> – This dark red blend was\u00a0rich in fruit flavors and had a delicate oak and chalky finish.<\/p>\n
