Tonight’s wine caused us a bit of a problem. \u00a0We weren’t sure which glass we should use to fully enjoy this unique wine. \u00a0I would hesitate to say we are glass “snobs”, but we definitely know that the glass has a major impact on the wine. \u00a0We ended up going through three different options before finally settling on the fourth (it ended up being the Syrah glass). \u00a0If you don’t have a Syrah, you shouldn’t worry. \u00a0The Jones von Drehle<\/a> Petit Manseng is one wine that will not disappoint, regardless of the glass you use. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The Petit Manseng\u00a0grape produces a\u00a0unique white wine. \u00a0It is\u00a0thick skinned\u00a0and\u00a0is often used in late harvest “ice wines” as they can easily stand up to the longer vine time. \u00a0This particular wine was fermented completely dry and has a fantastic bright character. \u00a0The color is a medium yellow but bright and clear. \u00a0The bountiful nose is filled with rich fleshy fruits and a hint of nectarine. \u00a0The initial flavors resemble\u00a0the nose, but then melt into a subtle honey kissed with a citrus lemon finish.<\/p>\n

If you don’t like white wines, you need to try this wine. \u00a0It could completely change your mind on white wine. \u00a0It’s not like a heavy Chardonnay that drinks like a red. \u00a0This is truly a white wine from beginning to end. \u00a0What it does offer is an experience like none other. \u00a0The Jones von Drehle Petit Manseng is available on their online store. \u00a0Visit their site<\/a> to see if they can ship to your state.<\/p>\n
