{"id":149,"date":"2014-09-01T20:43:50","date_gmt":"2014-09-02T00:43:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ncwineguys.com\/?p=149"},"modified":"2024-04-21T15:16:23","modified_gmt":"2024-04-21T19:16:23","slug":"shelton-dry-riesling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ncwineguys.com\/index.php\/shelton-dry-riesling\/","title":{"rendered":"Shelton Dry Riesling &#8212; Wine Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To kick off the NC Wine and Grape month, we decided to start with the Shelton Dry Riesling from <a title=\"Shelton Vineyards\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sheltonvineyards.com\/nc-wine-month\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shelton Vineyards<\/a>. \u00a0This full bodied white displays characteristics that are typical of a cool-climate Riesling without having to venture to the colder regions of the country. \u00a0<!--more-->Shelton really took their time with this wine to make it true to the Riesling style. \u00a0This wine is right in the middle of the spectrum of Rieslings; it&#8217;s not overly\u00a0steely or acidic, and it&#8217;s definitely not a sweet Riesling (it rests somewhere on the QbA to Sp\u00e4tlese range on the <a title=\"German Ripeness Categories\" href=\"http:\/\/www.germanwineusa.com\/press-trade\/ripeness.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Riesling Ripeness scale<\/a>).
