{"id":10059,"date":"2020-10-28T03:14:00","date_gmt":"2020-10-28T07:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ncwineguys.com\/?p=10059"},"modified":"2024-08-25T20:35:38","modified_gmt":"2024-08-26T00:35:38","slug":"in-the-wine-light-wine-styles-for-fall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ncwineguys.com\/index.php\/in-the-wine-light-wine-styles-for-fall\/","title":{"rendered":"In the Wine Light &#8211; Wine Styles for Fall"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ncwineguys.com\/index.php\/in-the-wine-light\/\">In the Wine Light<\/a> is wine styles for fall. \u00a0We don&#8217;t know about you, but fall is our favorite season. \u00a0Those warms days and cool nights are a welcome respite from the heat and humidity of the long Carolina summer. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With the change of seasons comes a change in the wines we drink. \u00a0Here are some of the favorite kinds of wines we like to enjoy as the days get shorter and the leaves turn their brilliant colors.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10061\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10061\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-10061\" src=\"http:\/\/ncwineguys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Unknown-300x158.jpeg\" alt=\"Linn Cove Viaduct\" width=\"300\" height=\"158\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ncwineguys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Unknown-300x158.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/ncwineguys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Unknown-150x79.jpeg 150w, http:\/\/ncwineguys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Unknown.jpeg 309w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-10061\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Linn Cove Viaduct around Grandfather Mountain along the Blue Ridge Parkway<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Ros\u00e9s<\/strong> &#8211; Ros\u00e9s are typically associated with the warm days of spring and the sweltering hot days of summer, but ros\u00e9 is also perfect for Fall. \u00a0Whether it&#8217;s a warm afternoon in the sun or with your Thanksgiving dinner, ros\u00e9 is always a perfect pairing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sparkling Wine<\/strong> &#8211; We&#8217;re big fans of sparkling wine anytime of year. \u00a0Fall is often about celebration with Halloween and Thanksgiving. \u00a0Bubbles are a perfect way to start any celebration or a Tuesday night dinner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Full Bodied and\/or Oaked Whites<\/strong> &#8211; As the days get cooler it&#8217;s usually good to move from those crisp and cold wines of summer into a more full bodied white wine. \u00a0Think Petit Manseng or Viognier. \u00a0Add a little oak such is in a nice Chardonnay and you have the perfect pairing with fall foods featuring butternut squash or pumpkin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Light Reds<\/strong> &#8211; Light Oaked or No Oak &#8211; The weather can still be quite warm in fall and the food typically isn&#8217;t as heavy as in winter, so it&#8217;s the perfect time for light reds whether they be oaked or not. \u00a0Think a Loire Valley Style Cabernet Franc or a nouveau style wine. \u00a0A drier muscadine, Chambourcin or Sangiovese are also good choices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cider<\/strong> &#8211; Who doesn&#8217;t love a good fresh apple in fall? \u00a0So, why not enjoy a nice cider? \u00a0Many apples can pack some good tannins, so ciders can be heftier than you might think. \u00a0Cider also pairs well with Thanksgiving dinner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mead<\/strong> &#8211; Mead is a perfect fall beverage. \u00a0From traditional styles to cysers with apple or pear, mead pairs perfectly with warm days, cool nights, sausages on the grill, Thanksgiving turkey and even pumpkin pie.<\/p>\n<p>What wines do you enjoy in fall?
